ila&i's stunning collection of jewelry comes from an unconventional brother and sister design studio nestled in the heart of Texas. With an eye on the un-designed and the overlooked, the siblings bring together unique creations that tread the fine line between originality and everyday elegance. Their pieces carry a sense of grace and style even when dressed with a t-shirt and jeans. "We want people to feel comfortable in our jewelry but know that it has that edge to stand out."
Ila Draksharam has the eye and flair for style. She grew up close to her mother, an F.I.T. graduate, and was wrapped in textiles and jewelry from a very young age. Ila spent 8 years designing high-end diamond jewelry with her mother and father, whose roots in jewelry trace back to India. Vikas Sodhani, the 'i' in
ila&i, has the eye for form and design. His obsession started at MIT where he studied engineering. It wasn't long before Vikas left engineering and headed out to India where he spent a year working in Indian design houses and hand fabrication shops.
Staying true to their vision for a holistic approach to design,
ila&i uses recycled scrap metal in all of their jewelry, and only human-friendly stones that are handpicked by Ila and Vikas directly from the cutting factories, so that they know where all their diamonds and precious stones originate. Look to
ila&i for necklaces, bangles, earrings, and rings using blackened silver, gold, and white and black diamonds that are at once both edgy and wearable everyday.
