A native New Yorker, Pamela Love earned a BFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Having been someone that was always drawn towards the free-spirited and creative side of life, studying the fine arts was a natural fit for Love. Initially, Love applied her education and skills to being an artist's assistant, an art director and a stylist. Although she excelled at these pursuits, Love found that throughout these endeavors she continually found she had trouble finding jewelry in particular that suited her tastes. Thus, in 2006, she started designing and creating her own pieces, often out of the basement of her Brooklyn apartment. The result has been readily embraced by the fashion world - Pamela Love is one of those rare breeds of people that have a true calling and possess the ambition and luck to realize their full potential.
Her unique designs, which marry the primitive with the contemporary, have very quickly drawn attention from trendsetters and celebrities at home and world wide. Beyond the success of her individual line, Pamela Love has collaborated with designers like Marchesa, Zac Posen and Opening Ceremony. The New York fashion world (and now the world as a whole) has welcomed her with open arms, and for good reason. Love is one of those rare new talents that has her finger on the pulse of the up and coming while simultaneously keeping her ears and eyes aimed at the kind of design standards that have guided timelessly chic style for decades.
Love draws inspiration from a range of sources, including her favorite artists, nature and science, and her innate connection to the American Southwest. Her designs are known for their ingenious blend of the natural and the edgy, of both whimsy and darkness. Her jewelry beautifully combines the old and the new, creating pieces that are distinctly fashion-forward but that you will be able to wear for a lifetime.
