Cosmic Thread

Sisters in the sky (as well as real-life blood sisters) Taryn and Megan Slawson have always been enthralled with both envelope-pushing design as well as natural form and the cosmos.  Drawing upon these interests, Taryn and Megan first entered the world of fashion upon graduating from Colorado State University’s noteworthy Fashion Design program with a label of boundary-pushing apparel called Chasing Rainbows.  The stars truly aligned for the two girls, however, when they developed a collection of jewelry as an offshoot to the Chasing Rainbows collection, called Cosmic Thread.  With inspirations coming from metaphysics, galaxies, geometry, and honing in on a minimalist aesthetic, Cosmic Thread hits the nail on the head with their bold, otherworldly statement necklaces, bracelets and rings.

Based in Denver, CO, Cosmic Thread jewelry uses a combination of reclaimed, organic, up-cycled, and synthetic materials to create its bold statement accessories.  Each necklace, earring, bracelet and ring is meant to be both an expression of aesthetic vision and a symbol of universal connectedness.  Inspired by space, the brand's ultra-contemporary, geometric designs pair wood, brass, copper, gold, acrylic, and other materials to create brazenly hip, incredibly unique pieces with elemental appeal and cosmic meaning.  Most recently, Megan and Taryn can be seen experimenting with thread-wrapped wood jewelry, including bangle bracelets and wrap braclets.  The duo also collaborates on a range of art objects, such as wrapped driftwood, tapestries, and dream catchers.  Check out popular items from Cosmic Thread at Goldyn, including the Fully Constructive Interference Necklace, crafted from reclaimed wood and acrylic shapes, the Methodology Rings – perfect for stacking together or wearing alone, as well as the Burlwood Bangle and the Rosewood Bangle (we love them stacked together for an ultra bold look).  All pieces are handmade in by Taryn and Megan in Denver, with special thought and care put into each artistic creation.
