Despite what the name may lead you to believe,
American Retro is in fact a French label based out of Paris. Founded with much acclaim in 2002 by David Pariente and Gregory Pariente, the
American Retro collection features a colorful palette that effuses radiant energy and a young spirit. The design team, headed by Laure Pariente, states that its motivation “is to uncover and invent new ways to enhance personal style.” This includes a focus on ways to personalize each collection with elements that express its hand-made quality, including embroidery, crochet knits, retro-inspired prints, and specialty cashmeres. The overall goal of the brand, however, is to remain in a space “between creativity and accessibility.” With one look at
